U.S Velvet is a collaboration between Zahara Jaime and Collin Davis. Based in L.A, the duo's music straddles post-punk and electronica for a gritty and dancey sound. They've just released their second single 'U.S Velvet', with a video, following on from 'Sleep Paralysis'. 'U.S Velvet' features harsher guitar sounds than their debut single, echoing the fast-paced strums of bands like the Buzzcocks, and the rhythm section is stiffened by both drum machine and drum kit. Taking it in turns to sing, Zahara's vocals are a gangling ramble, whilst Collin's verses are sharp and fierce.
